Farewell for Now from our drummer Travis
Below is a statement from our departing drummer Travis Richter. We are super sad to see him go and wish him the best of luck!
I am not very keen on fanfare, so I'm delivering this message now, to bring to light the fact that I am stepping away from my musical endeavors with Kingsley Flood and Pale Monsters. I'm taking a musical hiatus to appease my desire to explore other avenues of our great big world, much of which I have longed to have the time to experience. I am also taking the time to fix my broken ass body, again, much of which I have put off in order to keep the machine moving. It's all good though, I can still land a mean drop kick from atop of the drum riser!
I have loved playing with these guys and gals and have had the opportunity to record some of the best fucking music, and have played some of the coolest fucking shows. LEGIT. I'm sure I'll miss it at some point, but right now feels like the right time to take a break and do other cool things.
I've enjoyed performing for all of you, it's been so much fun for me, so thank you for being at shows, and reacting to our songs and our live sets! I've truly enjoyed meeting you and getting to know many of you personally. Muchas Gracias for all of the wonderful praise you have bestowed upon me through the years!
So, I'm almost finished making a solo EP which will be complete in the Fall, so keep an eye out for that. I'll bug everyone to take a listen. Keep supporting the music you love, and the friends you've made through that music. It's the only way it'll live on.
Thanks for it all, Rock On!
Trav
P.S. Here's part of a poem that sums it up.
"The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings." - Lewis Carroll
